2016-ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியான த மங்கி கிங் 2 (The Monkey King 2) திரைப்படம், 2014-இல் வந்த அதன் முதல் பாகத்தின் தொடர்ச்சியாகும். ஐந்நூறு ஆண்டுகளாக ஐந்து தனிம மலைகளுக்கு (Five Elements Mountain) அடியில் சிறைவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த சன் வுகாங் (ஆரோன் குவோக்), மேற்கத்திய நாடுகளிலிருந்து புனித நூல்களைக் கொண்டுவரப் பயணம் மேற்கொள்ளும் இளந்துறவி டாங் சான்சாங்கால் தற்செயலாக விடுவிக்கப்படுகிறான். தனது கீழ்ப்படியாமையைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தத் தலையில் பொருத்தப்பட்ட மந்திர வளையத்துடன், அந்தத் துறவியைப் ஆபத்தான பயணத்தில் பாதுகாக்கும் பொறுப்பை சன் வுகாங் ஏற்கிறான்.

Released in 2016, The Monkey King 2 is a sequel to the 2014 film, picking up 500 years after Sun Wukong (now played by Aaron Kwok) was imprisoned under the Five Elements Mountain. The story begins when the young monk Tang Sanzang, on a pilgrimage to fetch sacred scriptures from the West, accidentally releases Wukong. Bound by a magical golden hoop that causes him pain if he disobeys, the rebellious Monkey King is tasked with protecting the monk on his perilous journey.
The central conflict revolves around the White Bone Demon (Gong Li), a powerful and malevolent spirit who seeks to eat Tang Sanzang’s flesh to achieve immortality and avoid the cycle of reincarnation. She is a master of deception, using her shapeshifting abilities to sow distrust between the impulsive Wukong and the compassionate, pacifist monk. While Wukong uses his "Golden Gaze" to see through her human disguises and attacks her, Tang Sanzang perceives only innocent victims being harmed, leading him to banish Wukong from the group.
The film's climax occurs when the White Bone Demon successfully captures the monk, leading to a massive battle where Wukong returns to save his master. Realizing that the demon's soul is trapped in a cycle of pain and hatred, Tang Sanzang makes a ultimate sacrifice to redeem her spirit. Touched by the monk's selflessness, Wukong undergoes a transformation from a selfish warrior to a devoted disciple, and the group—including companions Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing—continues their trek toward India with a renewed sense of purpose.
