20ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் வயிற்றில் INJECTION போடுவது ஒரு சாதாரண நடைமுறையாக இருந்தது. குறிப்பாக பழைய SEMPLE RABIES VACCINE-இல், VIRUS-ஐ ANIMAL BRAIN மற்றும் NERVE TISSUE-களில் வளர்த்து, பின்னர் PHENOL மூலம் கொன்று தயாரித்தார்கள். ஆனால் அதில் ANIMAL MYELIN போன்ற NERVE TISSUE கலந்து இருந்ததால், சிலருக்கு கடுமையான SIDE EFFECTS, குறிப்பாக NEUROLOGICAL COMPLICATIONS மற்றும் “POST-VACCINAL PARALYSIS” ஏற்பட்டது.
அந்த VACCINE-ஐ ABDOMEN-இல் போடுவதற்கான காரணம், அது மிகக் குறைந்த POTENCY கொண்டதால் அதிக அளவு (5ML வரை) FLUID தேவைப்பட்டது. தினமும் 14–21 SHOTS போட வேண்டியிருந்ததால், DOCTOR INJECTION SITES-ஐ மாற்றிக் கொள்ள ABDOMEN-இன் பரந்த பகுதியை பயன்படுத்தினார். மேலும், அது SUBCUTANEOUS (UNDER THE SKIN FAT LAYER) முறையில் செலுத்தப்பட்டதால், ABDOMEN பகுதி எளிதான இடமாக இருந்தது.
1980களுக்குப் பிறகு CELL CULTURE VACCINES (CCVs) வந்ததால், இந்த பழைய முறையை உலகம் முழுவதும் நிறுத்திவிட்டது. இன்றைய VACCINES LAB-GROWN CELLS-இல் தயாரிக்கப்படுவதால், ANIMAL NERVE TISSUE இல்லை, SIDE EFFECTS குறைந்தன. அளவு மிகச் சிறியது (0.5–1ML), அதனால் ARM (DELTOID MUSCLE) இல் COVID அல்லது FLU SHOT போல போடப்படுகிறது. 4–5 DOSES போதும், 14–21 INJECTIONS தேவையில்லை. INDIA 2004-இல் NERVE-TISSUE VACCINE-ஐ அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக நிறுத்தியது, இன்று COIMBATORE-இல் எந்த HOSPITAL-இலும் ARM-இல் MODERN RABIES VACCINE-ஐ மட்டுமே பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

What a deliciously filmi photograph in hindsight.
And the evening carried special meaning for Ravi Tandon too because Majboor had arrived as one of the year’s major talking points. A tense thriller, emotional family drama and Amitabh performance showcase rolled into one.
The film received multiple Filmfare nominations, including:
Best Film, Best Director for Ravi Tandon, Best Actor for Amitabh Bachchan, Best Supporting Actress for Farida Jalal and Best Story.
And Majboor did take home a win:
Salim–Javed won the Filmfare Award for Best Story.
Very deserved honestly. The film’s “ordinary man trapped by fate” tension still works beautifully today.
Also lovely to imagine the atmosphere around that awards night.
